Lieutenant Bill Bartlett is a 26 year veteran with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (Orlando, FL) and possesses a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida. Prior to his law enforcement career, Lt. Bartlett worked for the Walt Disney Company and was assigned to the Disney Waterparks. He has been assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Watch Command, Homeland Security/Emergency Management and is presently assigned to the Orange County Convention Center. He serves as the Team Commander for the Hostage Negotiation Team, served as a Team Leader on the Emergency Response Team, and coordinates the law enforcement off duty for the Disney waterparks and other tourist attractions. He is also a member of the Region 5 Domestic Security Task Force Critical Infrastructure Sub-Committee; and has successfully obtained funding to train first responders throughout Florida with their response to active assailants. After the Pulse Nightclub terrorist attack on June 12, 2016, he coordinated the recovery efforts with all law enforcement agencies throughout Florida and is recognized by his agency as an active assailant subject matter expert.
