Sonya Mason has been serving as the Food and Beverage Committee Chair for WWA since 2023. Mason is currently the Waterpark Food and Beverage General Manager with Massanutten Resort and is excitedly awaiting a 22,000sqft expansion for 2026. Mason has grown through her management roles for over 20 years, throughout 5 different states and 2 continents, and working with cultural and language barriers from multiple countries around the globe. Each situation has brought her in contact with unique settings, customers, co-workers, and employees: from Dollywood, to running a coffee shop and retail stores on Martha’s Vineyard, to building an ExPat networking group of nearly 1,000 in South Korea, to feeding 1500 students up to 3 meals daily in the 2nd largest school system in Virginia, and diving into the world of waterparks at SplashDown in Manassas, VA and now Massanutten Resort. Mason’s experiences have led her to understand how integral food trends, diet inclusivity, and ease of production are to maximizing sales volume and customer satisfaction.
