Shelby Duncan

Shelby Duncan has worked her entire career in aquatics with the City of Olathe, a suburb of Kansas City. She started in 2003 as a lifeguard and quickly became a pool manager, lifeguard trainer, and swim supervisor. Over the years she has worked up to Aquatics Program Manager and have been in this role for 3 years. She was the Assistant Manager for Black Bob Bay in 2010 when it was renovated and opened as Olathe’s first water park. The facility has 2 tube slides, a lazy river, climbing wall, high dives, and kiddie feature pool. In 2014, Duncan became a full-time aquatic specialist and over saw the opening of their indoor water park as park attached to their community center. The facility features 2 run out slides, last river, climbing wall, diving platforms, hot tub, and kiddie feature area. In 2019 she oversaw the opening of Olathe’s only Beach and Marina which features an inflatable aqua park.
