Operations Manager

Ron Hood has been a Cast Member with the Walt Disney World Company for 18 years. After a 22 year career in the United States Army, Hood retired and began his second career at Walt Disney World as a lifeguard at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. He has held roles of increasing responsibility throughout resorts and waterparks & miniature golf, including a temporary assignment opening the recreation areas of Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa located in Hawaii. His other key roles were as the Operations Manager of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Operations Manager of Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Operations Manager for Disney’s Miniature Golf. His current role is the Senior Duty and Project Manager for Disney’s Water Parks, Miniature Golf. In this role, he leads a team of Duty Managers that are responsible for daily operations in both of Disney’s world class waterparks and the development and implementation of safety, security and emergency operations plans. Hood is also responsible for all projects going on within Disney waterparks. Hood serves on the WWA’s Safety Committee.
