Joey Baumer

Joey Baumer has been a part of the aquatics industry for over two decades. In his current role he serves as the General Manager of Typhoon Texas Waterpark located in Katy, Texas. Baumer started his career as a lifeguard for a Boy Scout Camp in Ohio before going on to operate aquatics programs at Coney Island Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gulf Islands Waterpark in Gulfport, Mississippi and The Jenkins Organization with multiple properties across the US. He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University where he obtained his B.S. in anthropology with a minor in psychology and is currently pursuing his MBA at Western Governors University. Baumer is a Certified Pool & Spa Operator Instructor with the PHTA, an active member of CMAHC, a member of the WWA Resort Committee while previously serving on the WWA Safety Committee, and on the IAAPA Waterparks Committee. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and is a PADI Scuba Diver. In his free time Baumer enjoys spending time outdoors, in and out of the water.
