Erik Beard is Managing Member & General Counsel of International Ride Training LLC, a ride safety consulting firm providing operational safety and accessibility services to waterparks, amusement parks, standalone attractions, and family entertainment centers around the world. Beard is also the creator of ADA FAQ: Disability Training for the Attractions Industry, a unique training program focused on accessibility and ADA compliance specifically for front line employees in the attractions industry. As a litigator for over a decade, he represented and advised amusement parks, aquatic facilities, trade associations and industry suppliers with respect to the Americans With Disabilities Act, amusement ride and aquatic safety matters, drowning investigations and in legislative and regulatory matters before several state and local authorities throughout the United States. Having spent several years working for two of the largest amusement park operators in the world, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and Universal Orlando, he has a unique hands-on, high-level day-to-day operating experience in this industry and is a frequent speaker at amusement industry events and trade shows. A frequent speaker at attractions industry events and trade shows, Beard also serves as Second Vice President of the New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, on the advisory board for the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Services, and on the Government Relations Committees for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and the World Waterpark Association.
