Daniel Thomas

Dan Thomas is the Director of Product Development and Technology at ProSlide, a global leader in water slide design and innovation. With more than 11 years of experience at ProSlide he has worked across product development, engineering, and technical standards in one of the world’s most unique and exciting industries. Thomas has been an active member of the ASTM F24 Committee on Amusement Rides and Devices for nearly a decade. He contributes to and leads efforts behind various ASTM task group work items. His involvement has given him a firsthand perspective on how industry standards evolve, how technical requirements are developed, and what those changes mean for waterpark operators, manufacturers, and the broader industry. A Professional Engineer registered with Professional Engineers Ontario, his background combines the theoretical foundation of mechanical engineering with the practical hands-on perspective of engineering technology. He brings that combination to his work in developing safer, innovative water attractions and helping advance industry practices through ASTM. Outside of the waterpark industry Thomas enjoys a hands-on approach to life by felling trees and milling into lumber, and building projects using resources from his own land. When he’s not working on a construction project, you’ll often find him riding enduro dirt bike trails on his property.
