Matt Nieman

Matt Nieman serves as the General Manager for Lost Island Waterpark in Waterloo, IA. Starting as an Ellis and Associates lifeguard in 2006, he has held multiple positions at Lost Island and took over as general manager in 2021. Lost Island was built in 2001 and is a family-owned waterpark and theme park that has been built from the ground up by the Bertch family. As the park has grown, Nieman has grown up with it, learning all the intricate details involved in making a small family parking into one of the largest in the Midwest. In addition to his role at Lost Island, he also works as a critical care paramedic in his local community and is has been an instructor trainer for Ellis and Associates since 2021. Nieman prides himself on providing outstanding experiences for his staff, which results in outstanding experiences for his guests.
