Matt Massey has been in the waterpark industry since 2007, when he started as a lifeguard at Wild Water Adventure Park in California. Over the next 10 years he wore many hats and climbed the ranks to Operations Manager while receiving his bachelor’s degree in business management. In 2018, he left Wild Water Adventure park and became Assistant GM at Island Waterpark in California. In January of 2022, he accepted his current position and joined PYEK Group as Park Manager of Cowabunga Bay Waterpark in Henderson, Nevada. During his 16 years, Massey has been involved in many different aspects of the waterpark industry including, aquatics, maintenance, revenue, park services, security, EMT’s, technology, risk management, and safety. He earned AFO and CPO Certifications along with an instructor trainer certification through the American Red Cross and an instructor certification through StarGuard Elite.
