Born and raised in South Africa, he developed a love for the ocean at an early age. After high school he studied Marketing at the Institute of Marketing Management. In the year 2000, Thatcher moved to San Diego, California, and began a career journey in the stationary wave industry, joining Wave Loch, a renowned company specializing in artificial wave development and the inventor of the FlowRider®. During his tenure at Wave Loch (later becoming Surf Loch), he gained invaluable knowledge and expertise in all aspects of surf pool development, construction, design, and operations. Currently serving as the Vice President of Business Development for Endless Surf, Thatcher continues to make significant contributions to the surf park technology landscape. With Endless Surf’s mission to revolutionize the industry, he plays a pivotal role in expanding the company’s reach and driving sales in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
