Aaron Stewart was the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Garden City, Kansas and has been in the Parks and Recreation industry for more than 25 years. He worked in many capacities in Colorado and Kansas which includes serving Garden City from 2016-2023. Stewart had a special focus on managing Garden City’s historic and recently renovated, Garden Rapids at “The Big Pool.” He was integral to the team when Garden City was in the process of completing their feasibility study and beginning the design work to replace the famed, 100-year-old, hand-dug pool. Stewart’s unique role in the project makes him an expert in the planning process and his frank, honest approach is well-known and well-loved in the parks and recreation community. Most recently, Stewart accepted the position of Parks and Recreation Director for his hometown, Manhattan, Kansas, which includes the oversight of three waterparks.
